Pricsila celebrates her 18th birthday with her ministry family

Priscila turned 18 this month. As many of our partners remember, Priscila was an abandoned child who was hospitalized with encephalitis for many weeks after her birth. She suffered serious brain and spinal injury from her abandonment. The Mexican authorities and medical professionals did their best to help her, so her life was saved. After her recovery, she was placed in the custody of Casa del Rey and was raised by Felipe, Angelica, and the ministry family that made up the children’s home. Priscila has always been a special needs child, but she is completely at home Casa del Rey, even though the campus is now a mission station and not a children’s home. Felipe and Angelica continue to operate the campus on our behalf. When the children’s home closed, Felipe and Angelica adopted her and have cared for her ever since as their daughter.

Her eighteenth birthday celebration looks more like a 4-6 year old princess party, but that is her level. We are happy for her, but we understand that she will always be a special needs woman. We are thankful for our partners over the years who have helped us to raise her and to keep up with her medical treatments, which have not lessened as she has grown.

She celebrated with Felipe’s extended family and friends of the ministry in Mexico. This made her happy and we are grateful for the time that we have with her. Guests include Damaris (Felipe & Angelica’s daughter), Felipe Isaac (Felipe & Angelica’s son), Adolfo, Rosita, and Victoria (Ministry family), and others.
