Ramón and Daniel are both medical missionaries from the class directed by Bob King, Jr., with instructors and material from IMPAS in Monterey, MX. Class was conducted in Piedras Negras. During October and November of this year, the broadcasts were interrupted due to a property dispute among the broadcast license/property owners. The dispute had nothing to do with the hosts of the program, but they were sidelined for a while. We are pleased to learn that they have returned to the air. They can be found Sunday from 12:00 — 1:00 pm on 88.1 fm Radio Alegría. The name of the program is Restauración y salud.
We are praying for the opportunity to expand our radio footprint and deliver more broadcasts. Dr. Romo of Harvest Ministries had previously arranged for our staff to broadcast health segments in Chiapas. The staff submitted these segments and many of them were broadcast in Chiapas. Though this program is no longer active, He [Dr. Romo] is negotiating to restart the program. There are additional stations in Southern Mexico which would be interested in carrying such programming. Tribal medicine is common in Mexico, but it is understood by the population that it’s power comes from witchcraft and is responsible for much suffering. Christian Naturopathy on the other hand is Bible based. The remedies are first lifestyle, then medicine. People in Mexico have much more respect for natural medicine than is common in the USA, so this is an effective door opener for the Gospel. In many cases, medicine is the only effective door opener available to us! Please pray with us about the matter. The picture is not the best quality, but the studio is suitable for broadcast. Ramón is good at this kind of ministry, and there appears to be a good banter between he and Daniel. This kind of programming has potential to win people for Jesus who would never listen to sermons.
