Families from many countries make their way to Piedras Negras in hopes of reaching the US. They are constantly challenged with meeting their needs. Jesus, not the USA, is our provider. He has promised to meet our needs as we hear his word and trust him. Faith begins where the will of God is known, and the source of that knowledge is the Word of God, energized by the spirit of God as it is read or preached. The foundational prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray includes the line “give us this day our daily bread”. It is the will of God for us to have our needs met and to have enough left over to invest and share with others. Provision and health are as fundamental to the Gospel as are salvation by grace through faith in Jesus and the life of joy that overcomes the world. Few people have heard that God’s love for them can and will change their lives through faith in his word. That is why we are on the mission field freely giving as we have freely received. It is a joy to watch changed lives as people come from darkness to light, and from hopelessness to hope for the future in the God who is more than enough. We have as the Lord multiplies it in our hands. People are drawn to listen to preachers who are able to help them. Jesus is looking for those who have ears to hear. Not everyone does, but there are many who do!
