Dr. Romo has been working with the community where his mission station is located to mitigate the damage done by the drought. He is hauling and distributing barley for use mostly by the animals, which would otherwise starve. Rural life in Mexico is difficult and uncertain. The Romos minister to the community through a church, commissary, medical care, education (including agriculture and health care), organic agriculture, and herbal medicine. All of these activities are done in and effort to reach precious souls for the Kingdom of God. There is a range of responses to his efforts. Most people are users and takers, but there are those who have an honest and noble heart. These are treasures for the Lord. Thank you Partners for helping us send laborers into the Lord’s harvest fields.
Even in drought Dr. Romo teaches the people to sow in faith that God will send the increase. The people of Jesus day were largely agrarian, so the parable of the sower was very familiar to them. In rural Mexico today it is also easily understood. Since these pictures were taken, we received rain in the area. God is faithful.
