Dr. and Alice Romo operate a church at the mission station near Allende, Coah. There is a clinic, Church, benevolence ministry, children’s ministry, and a center for community health lectures at the station. Harvest Ministries operates a commissary for the community so that the local people can depend on a food supply.
The Romos welcomed new members into their fellowship recently. Two families are shown leaving after receiving benevolence. The Man suffers from an advanced leg condition that is being treated by Dr. Romo. Rural communities often have difficulty finding medical care, so the combination of medicine, benevolence, and pastoral care is appreciated. One of the signs that identified Jesus’ ministry as valid was the preaching of the Gospel to the poor. The Gospel saves, heals, delivers, feeds, educates, and promotes people into families, communities, and nations. It gives them strength. Wherever the Gospel of the Kingdom is preached, life improves over time for those who listen and are converted. God is a good God, and his ways are right.
