We are still taking care of Pricila at Casa del Rey in El Moral.

Though the children’s home is no longer operating, the campus at Casa del Rey is still active. Felipe and Angelica live in the parsonage and two of the women whom we raised in the homes still work with them, Erika (not shown) and Mague (left in yellow top). Mague and Pricila are standing on the front porch of the parsonage. Pricila suffers from epilepsy and is completely dependent on the care she receives from the staff. Angelica directs her care, but Mague (who was also raised in Casa del Rey) is her main caregiver. Pricila is still a minor, but it is likely that she will always need special care. Because there are no systems in Mexico that address or provide for this kind of need, she is dependent on the ministry for support. Mague is able to act as Pricila’s caregiver as long as she has supervision from Angelica.

Pricila, a special education student, has very limited function. Her medications are regularly timed and dispensed by Mague. I am pleased with Mague for overcoming her own special needs to be able to care for her sister. The arrangement is imperfect, but it works. Both of them live in an apartment on campus that is in need of a new roof. The building is in reasonable shape, but it would take about $4,000 to replace the roof. With maintenance, the building can last for decades more, but without a new roof, it will not last long. There are problems on the inside that need attention, but it is in better shape than the second floor of the girl’s dorm from where this picture is taken. Often we are called upon to use the girl’s dorm as a women’s shelter, but the staircase and walls are in poor condition now and unsafe. Renovation would be a major project, so we would appreciate your prayerful consideration. There are many people to whom we could minister if the facilities were brought into good condition again. The campus still has a future.

God Bless you for your prayers, love and support for these many years.
