Our fleet is aging, but we still have one vehicle that has many miles left in it. Yet the repairs have been more expensive than we can keep up with. We have spent near $6,000 so far and I had to stop working on it to wait on the Lord to catch us up financially and finish the repairs. We still have to recover the funds expended so far, since we need it for operating. This affects our capacity to do ministry outreach. Our partners have been generous for which we are grateful! We have recovered near $1,600 so far. The vehicle has intermittent alternator problems which keeps us from being able to depend on it since starting the engine can be unreliable. We priced a new alternator at about $265.00, which is cheap compared to what we have already fixed, but alternator installation on this vehicle is complicated and labor intensive. Further, I am not sure that this is the end of the project, so I am cautious. Nevertheless, the vehicle is otherwise sound and is a good vehicle for ministry travel. We also have a 2011 Equinox in the fleet which works, but it has high mileage, so until we finish repairing the Traverse, getting out of town is a challenge.
This vehicle is a 2014 GMC Traverse with 135,395 miles on it. When we have recovered enough to be financially stable again we will finish the repairs.
We appreciate your prayers and we look to the Lord to honor his word where he said “…But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And all these things shall be added to you” (Matt. 6:33). There is a solution in Jesus. So, our eyes are on him. Thank you again, Partners with all our hearts!
