Dr. and Mrs. Romo have been sending Bibles and Christian literature to missionaries in Chiapas for several years now. There are native ministers actively working in the jungles and villages of Chiapas. They need literature and training. The Romos recently had the opportunity to minister in the area. During their time in the community of Sidon Tiakil they organized a project to cover the dirt floors with concrete. They had the full cooperation of the community and the church. The children benefit from the protection from parasites that the floor provides, and everyone benefits from the concrete floor in the kitchen, since parasites are in the dust stirred up by foot traffic. The women are encouraged and happy that someone has taken an interest in their plight. Women in these tribes are marginalized. This is another benefit of the Gospel. Women are very important to God. Jesus did more to elevate the station of women than any other religious leader.
There are herbal remedies for parasites, which Dr. Romo applied while seeing patients in the village. His work is very important in strengthening and establishing the Gospel in the state of Chiapas. Thank you for helping us to strengthen this wonderful ministry.
