In the village that hosts Harvest Ministry’s mission station (the land belongs to the village. This is common in rural Mexico.) there is a water shortage due to drought. Dr. Romo uses a pick-up to haul water from the village water source to the orchards and gardens where the medical plants are grown for the benefit of the community. The drought has affected a large area in norther Mexico, and of course, Texas. For the last year, he has been hauling water to keep the plants alive and meet the water needs of the mission station. About twelve years ago, he had a well drilled, but did not go deep enough to reach water. He and a team are re-drilling the well. Please pray for the success of this project, since water is vital for the people living in this area.
The land is dry….
Also, Harvest Ministries is building a community center that they call the Dorcas Community Center (referring to the disciple mentioned in Acts 9) as a gathering place for locals in the village. Food clothing, water, and community meetings for the community will be a blessing and an opportunity to minister the Gospel. The community is very open to the Romos, since they see the love and labor that have built the mission station to serve as a church, commissary, seminar center, clinic, etc. for the community. Dr. Romo preaches and teaches regularly since he and his wife, Alice moved to the village full time about a year ago.
