This month, Adolfo encountered a woman who is pregnant and already has a child with birth defects. She has traveled to Piedras Negras from Central America. She is in her eighth month of pregnancy, and had never been checked by a doctor. Adolfo took her to a clinic for a check-up. He reports that the baby is only 3.3 lb. She told him that she only eats once per day because they are out of food. Adolfo and Rosita are working to help her. Her five year old girl has brain damage of a type that cannot be treated in a regular clinic. There is a hospital in Piedras which can deliver the baby, but the charge is $800, plus ancillary care.
Adolfo’s team met her while they were ministering to the immigrants that they could find and pray for. The team collects contact information, so that they can follow up on each conversion. Adolfo prayed for this woman, but he has not reported whether or not she has received Jesus. None the less, she is precious to the Lord. “If you just can see their eyes…pure sadness. They just have a small room. is temporal [temporary]…single mom.” Adolfo tells me. He also says that she is willing to stay with a couple in Piedras Negras, so he is looking for accommodations.
