The exterior of the main building continues to deteriorate. In order to solve this problem, we want to re-side the building with 'Hardibord' (or a similar product) that not only will help to insulate the building and save on heating and A/C, but improve property value and add curb appeal. We call this building the "Main" building because it is used for gatherings, homework, kitchen, dining room, laundry, staff apartments, rest rooms and storage. Although the entire building is in a state of disrepair, the south side (facing Piedras Negras) is in the worst condition. See pictures below:
(Above) Large blocks of plaster have fallen off thus exposing the underlying framework to harsh weather conditions. We want to replace the single-pane windows with double pane for both beauty as well as for temperature control inside the building.
Thanks to the generous help of our Partners, the flood damage caused by Hurricane Alex has been addressed.
We are happy to report that, thanks to our wonderful Partners, our concerns about the safety of the stairs leading to the second flood of the girls' dormitory (pictured above left) have been put to rest. (See picture below). Thank you, precious Partners, for a new and substantially built staircase!
In addition, there are many secondary project needs too:

1) Exterior renovation that would restore and connect the new and existing buildings together
2) Construction of a second floor over both buildings.
